Lash Aftercare

  • Do not wash eyes and try to avoid steam and sweat for 24 hours after your lash application

  • Proper hygiene is very important. Please keep lashes clean by regular washing your lashes every day (Lash cleanser is available in our salon).  Alternatively cleanse eye area using your fingertips using gentle downward strokes, as facial wipes and cotton wool pads place lint onto lashes can become stuck, which can then pull out lashes.

  • After showering avoid rubbing lashes, it’s best to blot them with a towel and let them air dry

  • Remember to brush your lashes daily, especially after sleeping

  • Be extra careful with your lashes, especially when pulling clothing over your head and removing your makeup. No rubbing or pulling.

  • Never wear waterproof mascara, although most clients do not feel the need to wear mascara

  • Only use oil-free makeup remover and eye related products

  • Book a touch up appointment every 2-3 weeks to fill in the new areas where your natural lashes have fallen out and new lashes are growing in

Things to Avoid

  • Rubbing or touching your eyes

  • Sleeping on your face

  • Avoid oil-base products and waterproof mascaras/make-up removers

  • Eyelash curlers

  • Excessive heat, such as a hair dryer

How to Sleep with Lash Extensions

Cotton causes friction. This can pull at your eyelash extensions and cause damage or cause them to fall out prematurely.  Try sleeping with a satin eye mask or investing in a satin/flux silk pillowcase (now available in our salon).

Lash Shredding

The average person has 90 – 120 natural lashes per upper eyelid.  As a lash artist, it is our goal to cover all of these in our classic and volume sets.  Our natural eyelashes are continually shedding and re-growing, resulting in loosing approximately 3-5 lashes per eye, per day.

So, if we average that 3 natural lashed are lost per eye, per day (depending on your personal lash cycle and hair growth)…

  • In one week you lose 21 extensions;

  • In two weeks you lose 42 extensions, and

  • In three weeks you lose 63 extensions.
